The Haut Forez area, located in the Rhône-Alpes region in France, is well-known in the steel industry.
In 1947, the VASSEL family founds the company called “Ateliers du Haut Forez” and specializes in the manufacturing of bicycle forks. The company supplies many French brands. Everything is manufactured in onsite, in the premises located in Sury-Le-Comtal and St-Bonnet-Le-Château.
The knowledge in the steel industry leads to new opportunities. The first medical bed is manufactured in 1966, thanks to the work on its frame and structure.
The company decides to stop the manufacturing of bicycle forks and to focus on the health market. At the same time, Ateliers du Haut Forez sells the first beds in retirement homes.
The range is extended to medical furniture with the creation of a carpentry workshop in the premises.
Originally called “PRATIC +” in 1996, the company “COLUSSI” specializes in the selling and implementation of sterilisation units on the hospital market. Its headquarters is located in Lentilly, in the Rhône-Alpes region, in France.
COLUSSI begins to sell the new generation of sterilisation units for hospitals. They extend the range to research laboratories.
All knowledge and workshops of Ateliers du Haut Forez are gathered on a unique 10,000m² industrial site located in La Tourette, near to the previous premises in the Rhône-Alpes region.
The new premises integrate the R&D departement, the customer and support services.
These changes optimize the production and lead to major economies of scale.
The Global Concept Group, founded by Mr Pafundi, is created.
Ateliers du Haut Forez, now called “AHF”, is integrated into the group.
Colussi joins the Global Concept Group. The latter is now gathering the know-how of the two companies.
MEDIUNIC is created and governs the two companies: AHF and COLUSSI.
